What happens when you paste a listing
We extract the phrases that look like brands — the brand field, capitalised names, coined words, product-name n-grams, backend keywords. Not every word; the ones a reviewer would flag.
Each phrase is checked six ways — exact match, prefix, word-contains, look-alike spelling, sound-alike (so “Nikee” finds NIKE) and transliteration for non-Latin marks — across 54.2 million marks in 85 registers.
Every hit gets a TMAtlas Risk Score from 0 to 100, weighted by how close the text is, whether the mark is live or dead, whether it covers the goods you sell and whether it is registered where you sell.
You get a verdict first, then the reasons. HIGH REVIEW, REVIEW or LOW, with each phrase highlighted and the closest marks listed — owner, register, status, classes.

Which trademark registers do you search?
85 registers on every continent, including USPTO (United States), EUIPO (European Union), UKIPO, WIPO Madrid, Canada, Australia, Japan, Korea, Brazil, Mexico, India and Turkey. Does a LOW result mean my listing is safe?
No tool can promise that, and we do not. LOW means we found no close match among the marks we hold, for the goods you selected. Trademark conflicts depend on facts a database cannot see. Use TM Atlas to find what to review, then decide, or ask a trademark attorney for the marks that matter most.
How is this different from searching USPTO or TMview by hand?
A hand search checks one word in one register. TM Atlas extracts every brand-like phrase from a whole listing, checks each one for exact, similar-looking and similar-sounding marks across every register at once, weighs it by the goods you sell and the marks' legal status, and explains the score. What takes an hour by hand takes under a second.
Do you store my listings?
The free scan on this page keeps only an anonymous summary so we can enforce fair use. Scans done inside your account are stored as evidence, with versions, so you can show what you checked and when.
